Petanque & Broccante

Last week saw us at the annual 'Concours de Petanque' organised as fund raising for the local school our two daughters attend here in Antigny. Registration was at 13.30 and play commenced at 14.00. Great turnout from the village with all ages in attendance. Teams of pairs were drawn to play against each other and the competition drew to close five hours later. It didnt take long to realize that winners of each game buy the losers a drink and as my friend Eric and I lost about every game we were able to commiserate ones sorrows!
This weekend saw us at the local village of Bethines for its annual 'Broccante' in near scorching conditions in the high 30's. Lots of stalls arranged around the village square selling many different things from basic junk to quite decent pieces of furniture and antiques etc. Well worth the trip!
